Recently we’ve been getting up early to wander the backstreets of Gokarna. It has a lot more to offer than the beach bum life as we discovered. There is an amazing walled ghat area where the locals do puja (prayers) and wash every morning at dawn. The ghat has the added bonus of a resident crocodile! It felt like we had travelled back in time where villagers were dressed and behaving as they would have done thousands of years ago…. Times like these remind us why we love travelling….
